A little bit of luxury, a little bit of mischief.

Mahjong Cat Grande is my take on the kind of cat who would absolutely belong at a mahjong table—with her diamonds on, surrounded by red, green, and gold, and not particularly concerned about what anyone else is doing.

I wanted her to feel playful but also a little extravagant. The oversized white cat against the red background makes her almost feel like a character, while the mahjong tiles and necklace bring in those little details that make you want to look closer.

There’s something funny about putting a cat in this setting, but also something very familiar about it: the idea of leisure, indulgence, and simply enjoying your time.

There is something deliberately playful about it, but beneath the humor is a familiar image of indulgence, the luxury of having nowhere else to be.
